How We Got Started
Gerald Griffin Heating and Cooling Services was founded in July 2013 by Gerald Griffin, a Belmont native who was born and raised right here in Gaston County. Gerald’s journey to HVAC began with over 30 years of hands-on experience in the heating and cooling industry, starting his career in 1996 when he earned his NC HVAC license.
Before focusing on HVAC full-time, Gerald worked in the textile industry, a common path for many Gaston County residents during that era. According to NCpedia, textiles dominated Gaston County’s industrial structure for generations, and many local families, including Gerald’s, were connected to that heritage. When the textile industry began its decline, Gerald transitioned his skills and work ethic into heating and cooling services.
The decision to start his own company came from a simple belief: homeowners deserve an HVAC contractor who treats them the way they’d want to be treated. No pressure tactics. No unnecessary upsells. Just honest diagnosis, fair pricing, and quality work. That philosophy has guided every service call since day one.
We started small, one truck, one technician, one commitment to doing things right. Today, we remain a close-knit team serving homeowners throughout Gaston County, Lincoln County, and the surrounding areas. We’ve grown through word-of-mouth referrals and repeat customers, not flashy advertising.
